先日、新しくなった千光寺頂上展望台に初めてあがりました。私は高所恐怖症なので正直なところ怖かったです(笑)

さて、前回少し書かせていただいた通り、弊社、啓仁館は学習塾も運営しております。学習塾の方が歴史は長く約30年。ホテルはまだ5年目。なぜ学習塾の塾長がホテル経営を始めたのかは誰にもわかりません(笑)

かく言う私も、ついこの2月末まで学習塾の方に所属し大学受験対策をする英語の先生でした。そして、この春からホテルの方に異動になりました。

ホテルでは、英語の先生をしていた時の何十倍も英語を話します。というか、受験対策の英語の先生はほとんど英語を話す必要はありません。

私自身「コレって英語でなんて言うんだろう？」って思ったことをたくさん調べています。やはり、学びって楽しい。そんな気持ちを再確認しつつ、これから激務の大型連休を迎える訳であります。不安いっぱいです(笑)

The other day, I went up to the newly renovated Senkoji Summit Observation Deck for the first time. To be honest, since I have a fear of heights, it was quite scary for me.

Now, as I briefly mentioned before, our company, Keijinkan, also runs a cram school. The cram school has a longer history—about 30 years—whereas the hotel is still only in its fifth year. Why did the head of the cram school decide to start a hotel business? No one really knows.

As for me, until the end of February, I was actually part of the cram school, working as an English teacher preparing students for university entrance exams. However, this spring, I was transferred to the hotel.

At the hotel, I speak English dozens of times more than I did as an English teacher. In fact, entrance exam preparation teachers hardly need to speak English at all.

I often find myself wondering, "How do you say this in English?" and researching the answer. Learning truly is enjoyable. As I reaffirm that feeling, I am also preparing for the busy Golden Week ahead. Honestly, I’m filled with anxiety.
